Terms of Service

These terms cover the use of TranslateSermons, a service that translates church services live into captions and a spoken voice. By creating an account or a church on TranslateSermons you agree to them. Questions go to hello@translatesermons.com.

The service

• TranslateSermons turns the audio of a church's service into text, translates it with AI and delivers captions and a synthesized voice to listeners' phones and screens.
• Machine translation can be wrong. Names, Scripture references, theology and tone may come out inaccurately, and a word can be misheard. The translation helps people follow a service; it is not a certified or human translation. The church remains responsible for what it presents to its congregation.
• We work to keep the service running every Sunday but do not guarantee it is always available or free of errors.

Accounts and churches

• People who run a church's services sign in with their email address and a one-time code. Keep access to your email account secure: anyone who can read it can sign in.
• A church's admins decide who is on its team and are responsible for what the team does in the service.
• You may create a church only for a congregation or ministry you are entitled to represent.

Plans and payment

• Every new church starts with a free trial (30 days or 4 live hours, whichever ends first). After it, going live needs a plan.
• Plans are monthly subscriptions per church, billed in advance through Stripe. Prices and the hours each plan includes are shown on the front page.
• Hours count only while a service is live. When the month's hours are used, a live service runs for a short while longer and then pauses until the plan changes or the next month begins.
• You can change or cancel a plan at any time from the app. Upgrades take effect at once (Stripe charges the difference); downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the paid month. Payments are not refunded for partial months. Deleting the church's last admin account cancels its plan at once.
• If a payment fails, the plan keeps working while Stripe retries; if it is not paid, the plan ends and the church can no longer go live until it chooses a plan again.

Acceptable use

Do not use TranslateSermons to:

• send audio you have no right to broadcast, or content that is unlawful, hateful or harassing;
• send unwanted messages, for example by inviting people who did not ask to join a team;
• get around plan limits, create churches to collect free hours, or interfere with the service or other churches' data;
• resell the service without our written agreement.

We may pause or close a church or an account that breaks these rules, with notice where we reasonably can.

Content

• The church keeps all rights to its services, transcripts, glossary, notes and other material. It gives us permission to process them only to run the service for that church, as described in the [Privacy Policy](/privacy).
• Bible texts shipped with the service are public domain or freely distributed; texts a church adds are its responsibility.

Ending

• You can delete your account and your church at any time in the app. Deleting a church removes its services, transcripts and training material.
• We may stop offering the service with at least 30 days' notice to church admins by email; paid time that remains is refunded in that case.

Liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what the church paid us in the three months before it.

Changes

When these terms change, the effective date above changes with them. Material changes are announced to church admins by email at least 14 days before they apply.
